Land Surveying & Civil Engineering Software
What's NEW... LISCAD Version 7 |
| Undo /
Redo |
LISCAD 7.0 editing capability is greatly enhanced with
Undo/Redo functionality integrated
throughout the system. This is available from the Edit menu on each task.
|
| XML & LandXML |
LISCAD now has extensive support for both writing and
reading XML files. This new functionality provides you
with the ability to create customised reports or data
conversions with other applications. LISCAD is able to
both read and write the new industry standard LandXML
format which means you can exchange sophisticated
designs with other systems including MX, InRoads, and
Autodesk Land Development Desktop.
Filter controls have been introduced to give much
greater flexibility to create reports or export data
from LISCAD. The Filter Control allows the user to
define a set of criteria based upon the specified
attributes. Any object that satisfies the criteria will
be selected for the output.
The XML implementation means that new reports and data
conversions can be added to the system at any time
without the need to wait for a new release.

| Local & Projection Data In
Same Project |
LISCAD 7.0 also allows the Surveyor to easily and
seamlessly combine data from the local plane and
geodetic worlds. Data on a local plane bearing and
distance datum may be entered in a projection project
and viewed in local or projection values. For example,
the Surveyor can work in the geodetic projection
required, while entering cadastral bearings and
distances, then view, plot or exchange data in cadastral
or projection values. This feature will also be
extremely popular with surveyors working on extensive
projects such as pipelines, major roads and railways,
where geodetic accuracy is essential, but much localised
survey/cadastral/historical data needs to also be
incorporated in the project. For example, a subdivision
in projection coordinates can still be displayed,
plotted or exported showing title bearings and
distances!
|
| LINZ
LandXML |
LISCAD 7.0 has a comprehensive smart two
way exchange with LINZ (Land Information New Zealand)
Landonline system.
|
| Georeferenced Images
(MrSID, ECW & GeoTIFF) |
Background Images now provides support for MrSID, ECW
images and GeoTIFF images. These images along with their
georeferenced information can be directly imported into
LISCAD.
Improvements in the speed of loading and
displaying images have been made, allowing very large
images to now be supported.
Ground co-ordinates can now
be selected from the plan window when registering an
image.
Zoom and Fit functionality has also been
introduced into the registration window. Pixel ground
size is now displayed in the registration window. It is
useful to know the pixel size as it helps confirm
whether the registration residuals are reasonable.
You
can now configure the colours of the clip frame and
control points in the image registration window.
Registered transformed images can now be exported to an
image format of your choice. |
|
| AutoCAD 2004 / 2005 |
AutoCAD 2004/2005 is now supported.
The attributes of
the points within a line, can now be placed along the
line when output to CAD. This is controlled through the
CAD Output line codes.
LISCAD’s point attributes can now
be added to AutoCAD insertion blocks as text attributes.
Registered transformed images can now be exported to
AutoCAD in an image format of your choice.
|
| Create Graded Points Along
Any Alignment |
There is a new command to create graded points at
section markers on any alignment. This is very useful
for set out purposes.
When creating combined curves
or arcs by tangents and intersection points, you can now
choose to have elevations interpolated along the curve
at the newly created tangent points.
|
| Customised HTML / ASCII
Reports |
Through LISCAD’s comprehensive support of XML, data
exchange and reporting is now completely open. Numerous
additional data exchange formats and reports are built
into LISCAD 7.0, but the most significant aspect is that
customers or third parties are now able to create
customised HTML or ASCII reports and data exchange
formats.
The system is now backwards compatible,
which means that LISCAD 7.x files can be
exported as LISCAD 6.x files.
Traverse adjustment can also be exported via XML, allowing the creation of
customised adjustment reports.
|
| Leica System 1200,
SmartStation, RoadRunner & Gradestar |
Numerous new field sensors and data formats
are supported including:
Leica System 1200
Leica SmartStation
Leica Geo Office
Leica Roadrunner
Leica GradeStar
Leica DNA-03 and DNA-10 digital levels
Leica TPS-800 Series Instruments |
|
| Enhanced Least Squares
Adjustment |
Least squares horizontal and vertical data can be both
exported from and imported into the least squares
adjustment editor.
You can now modify the standard
deviations by entering centering and target errors,
thereby reflecting the relative weights of each
observation.
|
| Dynamically Update Plan
View From Long Section |
With LISCAD 7.0, changes to profile elevations can be
automatically updated to the plan view, and relevant
contours will also automatically reflect the new
elevations.
When Viewing/Editing Section Markers, the
alignment chainage, distance and offset of the selected
section marker are now displayed.
It is now
possible to automatically create points at section
markers along a primary alignment from within Section
Manager.
|
| Enhanced Transformation Techniques |
Geodetic enhancements see several new methods for
transforming between projections.
The new transformation techniques supported are:
Grid File (NADCON & NTv2)
Molodensky-Badekas
Bursa-Wolf
Molodensky 3 Parameter Shift
3 Parameter Shift |
|
| Transformations
Between Any Projections |
These techniques can be used to transform between
projections, even if the projections use different
ellipsoids.
|
| Intuitive Management Of Projections And Ellipsoids |
Projections have now been separated from ellipsoids
allowing them to be managed separately. This means that
a particular ellipsoid only needs to be created once,
and can then be used with any number of different
projections.
|
| Access Display Commands While Using Other Dialogs |
When working with interactive dialog boxes, you can
now hold down the shift key and right click into the
graphics window to bring up the display menu.
|
| Object
Selection Enhanced |
Enhanced editing tools now allow you to select a range
of objects, multiple objects and multiple ranges.
For example, keying in 1..10 12 14 20..30 in the Line
Number field of the Delete Lines dialog box selects the
lines between 1 and 10, line 12, line 14 and lines
between 20 and 30 for
deletion.
|
| Configure
LISCAD for MicroStation / AutoCAD Colours |
The LISCAD Colour Configuration can now be matched to
the default AutoCAD or
MicroStation colour palettes with the click of one
button.
